Vittorio Lara
Head of Specialty Research
Vittorio Lara is the Head of Specialty Research at ISS. His primary responsibilities include the delivery of high-quality corporate governance and environmental and social (E&S) research to global clients subscribing to ISS’ thematic policy offerings: Taft-Hartley Policy, Public Fund Policy, Socially Responsible Investment Policy, Sustainability Policy, Catholic Faith-Based Policy, and Climate Policy. Vittorio also manages governance research relating to U.S. foreign private issuers as well companies in U.S. tax haven markets.
Previously, Vittorio served as Interim Head of Australian Research and as Head of Manila Research. Prior to that, he led the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sector unit within ISS’ U.S. Research team. Vittorio has more than 25 years’ experience on governance topics pertaining to director elections, proxy contests, executive compensation, shareholder rights, mergers and acquisitions, and E&S topics.
Vittorio has been an active member of ISS benchmark voting policy committees and is a member of ISS’ Steering Committee and Global Policy Board, which is charged with updating ISS’ global benchmark policies.
He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MBA from the University of Maryland, University College.
