SYDNEY (October. 14, 2019) — Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. (ISS), the leading provider of end-to-end corporate governance and responsible investment solutions to the global financial community, today announced the addition of Andrew Vasey to its Australia and New Zealand research team. Vasey, who will join as Associate Vice President, will be based in Sydney and joins the ISS research team under Vas Kolesnikoff, ISS’ Head of Australia & New Zealand Research. Vasey was previously Manager of Australian Research at CGI Glass Lewis.

“We are delighted to welcome Andrew to further strengthen our local bench,” said Kolesnikoff. “Andrew’s deep market and research expertise provides a combination of knowledge and skills that will add significant value for our clients.”

“I am thrilled to be joining the ISS team with its global breadth and deep commitment to the institutional investors in our region,” said Vasey. “I look forward to hitting the ground running this proxy season and working with the rest of the ISS Sydney-based team in delivering ISS’s independent informed research and the highest quality service to ISS clients.”

Jeff Brown, ISS’ Regional Head of Business for the Australia and New Zealand markets added: “Over the past year, ISS has significantly increased its research team in the Australian market reinforcing ISS’ commitment to investing locally in staff and expertise to provide the high-touch insight and service clients require to support their stewardship and ESG integration responsibilities.”

Vasey’s hire is the latest development underscoring ISS’ commitment to expansion in the Australasian market in order to service growing local and regional client demand for market-leading governance, stewardship and ESG solutions. Earlier this year ISS acquired CAER, based in Canberra and a pioneer in the provision of independent research on the ESG performance of Australasian companies, which more than doubled ISS’ presence locally.
